Maria Alba-Quesada
Maria Alba-Quesada is an accomplished educational leader with nearly two decades of experience in school transformation, academic improvement, and leadership development. Maria has served as a principal, where she implemented data-driven instructional practices, comprehensive professional development systems, and innovative curriculum initiatives that improved student outcomes and built a culture of excellence. She has successfully raised student achievement at low-performing schools, leading strategic initiatives for academic sustainability and continuous improvement.
Currently, Maria acts as a consultant, supporting schools across Florida with compliance, curriculum development, leadership training, principal mentorship and coaching, academic improvement efforts, grant writing and management, and charter application development and renewals. She currently serves on the Florida Department of Education’s Council for Early Grade Success, having been appointed by Governor DeSantis, where she contributes to statewide initiatives that impact early literacy and student outcomes.
Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Barry University and a master’s degree in the Leadership of Educational Organizations. Maria has completed all but her dissertation toward a doctoral degree in Higher Education. Her dissertation focuses on transformational leadership and how school culture and climate impact student achievement—a topic inspired by her passion for school transformation and improvement.
